The Grape & The Good opened its doors in October 2015, after many months, if not years, of searching for and pondering over the right location for our little shop. It was always going to be Wells- just a case of where in Wells and we think (read 'hope') we've got it right. The idea is that we can offer something to everyone, from the interested wine novice up to the seasoned tippler. Our vision is that our customers can browse and explore without intimidation or stuffiness and can feel free to ask if the need arises. We love drinking wine (it is our job afterall) but most of all we love talking about it so please come and have a chat and if there is something in particular you are looking for just let us know. If however, you're not sure what you're looking for then you're in good hands; any budget, any style, any occassion, any food match- we'd love to help.
By working closely with our suppliers and directly with wine growers, we endeavour to offer much more than the often predictable off-licence and supermarket shelves, carrying a broad range of wines at various price points. We believe that we should all be able to buy a great bottle of wine at a competitive price whilst representing great value without comprimising on quality. We don't do 'half price' but we do do fair price all year round and will even sneak in a little discount, when possible, if you buy a few bottles.
If you have a function, party, wedding or birthday coming up and need to keep your guests refreshed contact us for a chat and hopefully we can help. We can offer sale or return and free glass hire (subject to a few small conditions). Volume discounts are also available and we'll work with you to find the right wines to suit the occassion/budget/menu etc.
Corporate gifts, Chrstmas presents, special Birthday? We can help so pop in or contact us by email/phone.
In addition to the wine range you will find a carefully selected offering of craft beer and spirits. Over the last years there has been a huge movement in the industry towards smaller, more careful, and higher quality production and with this comes some exciting new products from these shores and internationally.
In a nutshell, we aim to provide a friendly, useful service including free local delivery and regular free tastings. Whilst we can't have everything open at once we will always have something for you to taste. We don't buy wine for the shelves without tasting it first and we're keen to offer the same opportunity to our customers as much as possible.
